Easter

April 12, 2009

We had a great Easter! Our festivities started on Friday with an Easter egg hunt at the park with some of our friends. The kids had a ball. Really, what could be better than hunting for eggs and playing at the park with friends?

Mckinnley and Brynnley- BFF!

Brynnley pumped her legs all by herself today! What a big girl! She was so proud.

Easter sunday started with an egg hunt around the house...

We love you Mr. Easter Bunny!!!

Um, I think that is for Brynnley.

The kids were so excited to wear their Easter outfits, especially Brynn. Thanks Grandma! She has been asking to wear it every sunday since she got it. I made her wait until today, so it was REALLY special!

My favorite photo of the day!

I got released as the Young Women president today due to the fact that we are moving next month. I taught for the last time today. It was hard to say goodbye. I will miss my girls. My sweet presidency gave me the most beautiful yellow tulips. I was so touched that they would think of me. My second counselor is replacing me. She is wonderful. The girls are in good hands!! It just makes me so sad as our time to move approaches. I am really going to miss my friends!! I know I sound like a school girl.

Brynn's primary teacher, Sister Howard, does the cutest things with her primary class. Brynn loves her. Kendra is a very good friend of mine. Today Brynn came home from church with this...

She told us on the way home from church that she kept licking the chocolate off her plate during the process of making it. Sorry Kendra! The chocolate was to hold on to the grass.(coconut)

I couldn't help but laugh. It was so well thought out. Brynn knew all about what it was. But all I could do was think about eating that snowball.

It has been so fun to talk about the real meaning of Easter with the kids. We have had a couple of Family Home Evening lessons on it. I just didn't want Easter to be about the bunny. When asked why we celebrate Easter, Brynnley says, "Because Jesus was resurrected". Mission accomplished!

My parents got to go to the Holy Land last week. They sent us an email with their journal entry about it. I loved reading it and couldn't help but feel envious of their spiritual journey. How amazing to walk where Jesus walked and stand where he suffered for our sins. I am so grateful for my Savior and His sacrifice for me. It means so much that someone would do that for me. I can't help but feel so blessed. Happy Easter!

I love the little tomb with the cookie, what a great idea! It's so fun to see what you and your family has been up to. I can't wait to hear where you guys are moving? Did you find a great opportunity? How come my YW presidents couldn't have been young and fun?

Love the easter pictures! You have to tell me how you curled Brynn's hair! We've been experimenting with hairstyles...Elise will be getting baptized in June (in Utah) and we're trying to figure out what to do with her hair.
