Snow Cone Anyone?

June 20, 2011

Tina and I had a Snoopy Snow Cone Machine growing up.  Woo hoo!  Well, Tina found one at the store and bought it.  Today Tina and I took the kids swimming and then came back to our house to make snow cones.  It was so funny.  Tina and I were more excited than the kids.  By the way, it is a pain to grind up that ice!  Tina got a work out!  Yeah, no wonder we didn't use it much growing up! :)

Brynn's first audition!

June 19, 2011

Brynn did a dance camp this week and at the end of the camp they auditioned the girls for their performance team, Dynamite Express.  Brynn not only made the team (called Sparklers), but she made the elite group, Tiny Knockouts.  This group is taken from the top dancers in Sparkers.

I was so nervous when I went to look at the list.  I felt total deja vu!  I know that feeling well.  We hadn't told her what the list was.  We wanted to protect her a bit from what was going on, so when I found her name there, I went and got her out of the car and explained what the list was.  Joe and I got teary-eyed.  It is so awesome to have your children succeed in and enjoy the same things you have passion for.  We are so proud of her and happy for the fun experience she will have this year being on the team.  Sooooo fun!!!!  Way to go Sweetie!

Father's Day!

We had a great Father's Day!  We had yummy food and celebrated the best Dad in the world!!  The kids sure love their Dad!  They made him some fun frames out of popsicle sticks and paper weights out of rocks...(thanks Tina for doing these crafts with them)

Here is a tie that Jaden made his Daddy at church...Sweet!

We love you Dad!!!

Utah!

May 30, 2011

We went to visit Joe's family in Utah for a few days.  We had a GREAT time!
One highlight was being able to see baby Daxton, Rob and Tiff's new baby.  He is sooo cute and happy!
Brynn go to feed him a bottle and was in heaven!!!

She was so elated to be feeding a REAL baby!!!

We were there for Memorial Day.  We all went up to Paradise to put flowers on some graves and to have a Norman reunion.  We weren't planning on the snow!!!!  Brrrr!!!!

My great great Grandfather, Jacob Larsen is buried there too.  He and Joe's great great Grandfather, Samuel Oldham were best friends, and no doubt workin' some magic up in heaven to get us together!  :)

Thank you Grandpas!!!

We went to the reunion and stopped back by the cemetery on the way home to add some more flowers.  The snow had almost melted away completely.  Ahhhh!

Joe and Brynn putting some flowers on his Grandpa and Grandma Norman's graves...

This is what Joe remembers the view to be driving up to his Grandparents house in Paradise.  Isn't it beautiful?!

We took the kids to Salt Lake City to show them some of the church sites...

The Conference Center

Temple Square

The Tabernacle

I love this one of my cute kids!!!

We ate at the Lion House Pantry with Grandpa, Grandma and Aunt Becky.  Becky used to work there, so we got a little tour...

We went to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building to see the Joseph Smith movie.  It was so good!

Grandma took us on a personal tour of the LDS History Museum.  She and Grandpa used to give tours there, so she really had some cool stuff to share with us.

We had a blast and can't wait to go visit Utah again!!!!

Graduation!!!

May 27, 2011

Brynn tested at a 3rd grade spelling level and got straight A's this year!  She is a GREAT reader too!

I love this song.  Soooo cute!

Jaden will be going to a more advanced preschool next year.  He is loving being a big boy!

Fathers and Sons Campout

May 21, 2011

This was Jaden's first time going to Fathers and Sons.  Joe took Brynn when Jaden was too young.  He just put a cap on her head and nobody even cared she was a girl.  Hee hee!  The next year we were moving and couldn't fit it in.  Last year Jaden ended up getting sick the day before, but this year the stars aligned and they got to go!

Jaden was super excited to sleep in the tent.  Joe was not.  It was soooo cold that weekend.  They really bundled up!

On the way home, Joe took Jade to Bass Pro Shop for some more fun.  Jaden still talks about all the fun they had.  Go Boys!!!
