The Land of Enchantment

March 26, 2009

We recently visited our friends Ryan and Tamera Shepherd. They showed us the town like no other! We visited the zoo...

Oh snacks, Jaden loves you. Thank you Tamera.

Everybody howl like a wolf. Lucy is a performer. What a doll!

Always running somewhere...

Tamera's camera is awesome! Thanks for the great shots!

"I can't see the seals"

I love this photograph.

Be a komodo dragon...

We went to the botanical gardens...

Feeding the Koi

We went to the aquarium too...

And of course there was a lot of silliness...

Our kids are still talking about Lucy and Sophie and all of the fun things they did together. Thank you for all the fun guys!!!

We also visited the Carrolls. They gave us a glimpse of life on the ranch. The kids were in heaven. Brynn and Jaden got to ride on Aunt Kelly's horse, "Bo". This was a highlight of the trip...

The kids each got to ride Bo, then Brynn wanted to go fast, so Patty got on with her and they trotted for like 15 minutes.(Bless Patty's heart) I don't know how anyone can stand trotting for 15 minutes, but Brynn loved it, and giggled the whole time. Of course she paid for it for the next 2 days when she was sore.

Cowgirl with a chin strap! She posed all by herself- so cute!

Um, move over guys.

Other fun things we did on the ranch:

-Fed "Otis" the goat his favorite treat- corn chips.
-Got head-butted over by "otis" the goat. (Jaden was standing too close to his corn chips)
-Fed and watered all 3 horses
-Played with "Lily" the cat
-Bothered "Lily" the cat
-Ran away from "Lily" the cat
-Tried to play with "Sophie" the cat
-Watched "Bibs" the dog get a bath
-Watched "Tilly" the dog wish she was getting a bath
-Swam in the hot tub on the patio (warm tub)
-Cut flowers for a bouquet
-Played with "Larry" the Dad :)
-Played with little rocks (goat poop-AHHHH!)
-Rode the "tractor""
-Walked along the Rio Grande

Did I mention that our car broke down on the way home and we had to go back for 6 more days. OH MY GOSH!!!!! Talk about an imposition on all these poor people! They sure are wonderful! Too bad they will never let us come back to visit now. :)

Here's a video clip of our little cowgirl!
