Brynnley's First Talk In Primary!!

Brynnley got to be part of her 1st primary program last fall. I had worked on the songs with her and she had her part memorized. I knew she was a little scared to be up there, so I bought a small gift for her and took it in my purse to the meeting.(I am not ashamed, bribery works!) I had told her her I had something for her and she'd get it after she did her part. She had not done it at any of the rehearsals, so I was not surprised when she wouldn't do it at the performance either. She wouldn't even sing or hold up a picture with the other sunbeams. She just sat there the whole time looking scared. I felt so bad. I don't know where she gets her shyness from, certainly not her mother!
In January, Brynnley was asked to give a talk in primary on being a spirit child of Heavenly Father. I just laughed and thought, ok , I'm going to have to give a talk in primary. Joe put the talk together and went over it with her. Sunday came and I went into primary to hear her talk. She got up there with her Daddy and he helped her give a wonderful talk!! She just stood there and did it. I was amazed! I was so proud of her. I even got teary-eyed. What a big girl. I guess having graduated from sunbeams to CTR-5 did the trick! Way to go big girl!!!


I am a Spirit Child of Heavenly Father


I am a child of child
And he has sent me here
Has given me an earthly home
With parents kind and dear.
Lead me, guide me, walk beside me.
Help me find the way.
Teach me all that I must do
To live with Him someday.

We each have a spirit that was created by Heavenly Father. We lived with Heavenly Father as spirit children before we came to earth. Since we are all spirit children of Heavenly Father, we are all spirit brothers and sisters. When we came to earth, our spirits got bodies. My spirit is inside my body; it’s what makes me alive, think, move, talk, and feel. It looks like my body but it does not have things like skin, bones, or hair.

While on earth Heavenly Father wants us to grow and learn many things. As we choose the right we become more like Heavenly Father and Jesus. Just like our father and mother on earth, our Heavenly Father wants us to be happy and wants to help us. We can pray to Heavenly Father to thank him for our blessings and ask for things we need.

I know Heavenly Father is the father of my spirit
I know He loves me and I love Him.
I want to choose the right, and learn and grow, so that I can live with Him someday.

"I gave a talk in Primary today about my spirit and body. It wasn't very scary. I was brave. Avery and Bryce are my favorite friends in primary. Jesus is my favorite brother. Jaden is my favorite brother and Mom and Dad are my favorite friends and Mom and Dad. I love the missionaries. Ethan's Dad is my favorite Bishop. Sister Howard is my favorite teacher."
