To My Father

June 12, 2008

My father is serving a mission with my mother on Cyprus. Half way around the world- too far away for a hug. This father's day I am thinking of you and the lessons you taught me...

- Never be too serious, laugh and be laughed at.
- Trust your children until they give you reason not to.
- You can do anything you put your mind to.
- Always duck when you are near a light or ceiling fan and 6'6" tall.
- Does the pope poop in the woods?
- Snickerdoodles are the world's best cookie!
- Families are forever.

The moments I remember...

- Kneeling by my bed with me in prayer
- PPI's in your den
- Attending every thing I did, even LONG junior high choir concerts.
- Spike Jones
- The pool at the Roadway Inn
- The family shows
- Throwing m&m's into your open mouth while you were sound asleep- sorry for that.
- Peanut butter and miracle whip sandwiches- How are we still alive?
- Our favorite- buttermilk with pepper
- Walking into the glass door- I am laughing right now!!!
- Our shoot the cracker routine- we won 1st prize!
- Dolphin rides in the pool
- Dancing at my wedding
- Seeing you with my children

Happy Father's Day, Daddy. I love you!!!
